When you purchase a new car, it’s important to choose one that hold its value over time. This is a good indicator of overall quality, and it also puts you in a good financial position if you plan to eventually trade in the vehicle. That’s where Toyota comes in. The carmaker recently earned seven awards from the Canadian Black Book 2021 Best Retained Value Awards, demonstrating how well its vehicles maintain their value over time.
Each year, the CBB evaluates and awards vehicles that retain the highest percentage of their manufacturer’s suggested retail price after four years. For the 2021 awards, CBB looked at vehicles from the 2017 model year.
Toyota earned a top spot in six of the 23 categories that CBB evaluated. The winners are as follows:
- Compact Car: Toyota Prius V
- Full-Size Car: Toyota Avalon
- Small Pickup: Toyota Tacoma
- Full-Size Pickup: Toyota Tundra
- Midsize Luxury Crossover/SUV: Lexus GX460
- Near-Luxury Car: Lexus IS Series
The brand also earned the title of Best Overall SUV/Truck Brand.
Seven other Toyota-made cars placed second in their segments, while five other placed third. This made Toyota the best-represented automaker in the awards.
