Toyota is constantly making advancements with its vast lineup of vehicles. One of the most recent updates is that of the next-generation 2022 Toyota Tundra. This impressive pickup truck arrives with even more power, cutting-edge technology, and improved safety.
“We took a fresh, transformational approach to our truck development and had to rethink many things we’d previously done,” said Mike Sweers, Senior Vice President of Product Development Office and F1 Platform Chief Engineer. “Not only did we improve the performance and enhance the capability of this new Tundra, at the same time, we were certain to retain the strong quality, durability and reliability for which Toyota trucks are known.”
The 2022 Tundra comes with a new standard 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 that generates up to 389 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. However, the available i-FORCE MAX powertrain offers even more with up to 436 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque. With all this power, the new Tundra can tow up to 12,000 pounds.
Inside, an expansive available 14-inch touch screen is the highlight of the Tundra’s upgrades. With this large screen, you can easily use the infotainment system as well as an available Multi-Terrain Monitor that checks for obstacles in your immediate surroundings while operating the truck.
Other tech advancements come in the form of safety, with Toyota Safety Sense™ 2.5 standard on all models. This innovative system includes a handful of features like a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Automatic High Beams, and Rear Seat Reminder.
