Toyota is already a leader in eco-friendly vehicle options — and now it’s moving into a future of carbon neutrality. The automaker recently introduced an all-new, all-electric SUV concept called the Toyota bZ4X Concept. It’s the first in a global series of battery-electric vehicles to be introduced under the “Toyota bZ” name.
On the outside, the Toyota bZ4X Concept has a long wheelbase with short overhangs. Its spacious interior features an open-concept design to enhance driver comfort and confidence out on the road. On its dashboard, the instrument panel is set low and the gauges are located above the steering wheel to help increase visibility on the go. The bZ4X also comes with a new all-wheel-drive system.
Toyota wants to expand its lineup to include 70 electrified models around the world by 2025. Seven of these new vehicles will carry the bZ (Beyond Zero) brand moniker. Toyota also plans to introduce electrified power to its pickup truck lineup in the near future.
Currently, Toyota’s lineup accounts for more than 40 percent of all alternative powertrain vehicles sold in Canada. The efficient lineup includes battery-electric, hydrogen fuel-cell electric, hybrid electric, and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.
You can test-drive many of these eco-friendly Toyota models right here at Downtown Toyota in Toronto. Call or send a message soon to set up an appointment.
